Thanks for posting these, Pamela! Mick did such a great job drawing this book and it was a blast to write…While I’ve written over a dozen crime novels (www.jasonstarr.com) this was my first graphic novel. When people ask me what the experience of writing for comics is like–aside from the pure of it–I tell them that it’s a cross between writing a novel and a screenplay, expect you are also co-director and co-cinematographer. When I’m writing for comics I feel like I have to use more of my brain than when I’m writing straight prose, if this makes any sense…Also, the form opened up a lot of new possibilities for me, with plot and character. For example, my books are mainly contemporary New York crime thrillers, but The Chill spans four decades, and there’s much more action than in my books. My books tend to be more claustrophibic, which I love, but writing The Chill I felt I was able to extend my wings as a writer…

So excited for this. I got my preorders of the first two books this week and they are *gorgeous*. I love the size, the feel and the trade-dress. I’m sure THE CHILL will look just as nice up on the bookshelf.
